A superb and large pair of French, vintage, Limoges hexagonal shaped Imari style lamps. The lamps with their original dome shaped covers. The lamps decorated in the traditional Japanese Imari enamel pallet of iron red, underglaze cobalt blue and apricot.
Each of the six panels painted with Imari subjects. Two panels of flower filled vases, two panels of stylised flowering prunus and two of stylised flower heads.
The upper third of the lamps with a cobalt ground decorated with quatra lobed and circular flower filled reserves, the hexagonal domed covers, en suit. The lamps beautifully gilded with the gilding in original condition.
The lamps seated in custom made water gilded / gilt wood, hexagonal bases, the bases detailed with an inverted curve. These are a stunning large pair of vintage Limoges lamps in beautiful condition. The lamps shown with a Royal Blue, pleated silk shade suggestion.
Lamps as mirror image pairs are rather more difficult to acquire, when potential damages / losses, over the past 65 plus years, as in this case, are taken into account.
Lamps needs to be functional—but can also be beautiful. These lamps are designed to blend with everything from the traditional to the contemporary interior.
